Five Stops for a Successful Date at the Culture Festival

Dinner and a glass of wine are all well and good. But sometimes it's nice to have something more to do on a date than just keeping the conversation going. At the Culture Festival, there are plenty of things to experience together. Here are five tips.

1. Makers Market at Skeppsbrokajen

Between August 12 and 14, Skeppsbrokajen will be filled with crafts, design, and creativity when Stockholm's Makers Market moves in.

Here you will find local designers, artisans, and small-scale producers selling everything from ceramics and jewelry to illustrations, textiles, and art.

Take a walk along the quay, look at handmade products, and be inspired by the selection.

2. Lunch at Strömparterren

When your stomach starts to rumble, Norrbro is an obvious next stop. Here you will find food trucks and food stalls with flavors from different parts of the world.

Take the stairs down to Strömparterren and sit by the water with something to eat or drink. With a view over the stream, it is one of the festival's most popular spots for a break.

3. Watch a movie in Slussen

Movies on a first date is an old tradition. But it's not every day you watch a movie in the middle of Stockholm on a late summer evening. The festival's new area in Slussen offers film screenings with Gamla stan as a backdrop.

Here you can sit down for a French film, discover something you missed in the cinema, or see a favorite again. Take a seat on the bleachers closest to the screen and lean back.

4. Go to a concert together

At Gustav Adolfs torg is the festival's largest music stage. Here, some of the year's biggest names perform, including Agnes, Hurula, Otto Knows, and Greekazo.

Below the Royal Palace awaits Skeppsbron, the festival's second largest music stage. Here, well-known artists share the stage with new names and genres from all over the world.

A great opportunity to see a favorite artist or discover something completely new.

5. End the evening on the dance floor

Not ready to end the evening just yet? Then Strömgatan is the next stop!

Here, a new club concept awaits every evening from 9:00 PM. Country, RnB, Balkan, Latin, and UK garage are just some of the genres that take over the area during the festival week.

Outside the club, the party continues with Silent Disco. Hundreds of people dance side by side with headphones on. It might be the last stop of the evening. Or maybe not.
