A suspenseful thriller about power, rumors, and political tensions in French Polynesia.
On Tahiti, the French civil servant De Roller moves effortlessly between the island’s power brokers and its more secluded environments. When rumors begin to spread about a submarine off the coast, suspicions arise that France is planning to resume its nuclear tests in the area.
Pacifiction is directed by Albert Serra and premiered in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022, where it was nominated for the Palme d’Or. Benoît Magimel was awarded a César for his leading role in the film.
The film is shown at the Water Square stage. Take a seat on the bleachers at the Water Square and experience the film under the open sky.
