Film Screening – Planet of the Whales
16/08
21:00-22:30
Water Square - Stage
A documentary about the life, history, and significance of whales for the world's oceans.
When a humpback whale washes up on a deserted beach, the film follows the struggle to save its life. At the same time, it depicts the whales’ complex social life, their unique abilities, and the important role they have played in Earth’s ecosystem for millions of years.
Inspired by Heathcote Williams’ book Whale Nation, Planet of the Whales (Les Gardiennes de la planète) takes the audience down into the depths of the oceans and closer to some of Earth’s largest and most fascinating animals.
The film is shown at the Water Square stage. Take a seat on the bleachers at Water Square and experience the film under the open sky.
The film screening is presented in collaboration with the French Institute.
