Conch Blower Tommy Adolfsson
15/08
16:00-16:30
Water Square - Stage
The conch blower Tommy Adolfsson creates music using sea shells.
With rhythms, tones, and electronic soundtracks, he builds a concert where the sounds of the shells are at the center. The music is performed together with back tracks by Dorisburg.
Inspired by shell playing during temple rituals in Mahabalipuram in southern India, he has collected shells from different parts of the world, where each shell has its own tone and character.
The shells have been heard in contexts such as P2 Classical Morning, Dalai Lama’s speech at the Globe, performances by Kenneth Kvarnström, Club Häktet, Stilio Rave, and openings at Fotografiska.
